Primary Purpose:

To provide for the delivery of technical assistance and professional development in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities that address the unique needs of the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in the area of Secondary Math. Utilize an effective and efficient planning process based on pertinent student, campus, and district data sources for the purpose of assisting LEAs in instructional improvement and the meeting of LEA and ESC accountability requirements.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Provides effective, research-based secondary mathematics instructional support for campuses in Region 16 (e.g., ESC-designated instructional coaching model, professional development, PLC support, grading of artifacts, etc.)
  1. Provides content, best practices, and pedagogical expertise in technical assistance and professional development to support the improvement of instructional practices for monitoring and evaluating student learning 
  2. Collaborates with colleagues in and beyond the ESC to identify professional development needs through detailed data analysis and self-reflection to provide quality services to customers that positively impact student learning
  3. Sets, modifies, and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on self-assessment, reflection, peer and supervisor feedback, contemporary research, and analysis of student learning
  4. Manages a state or federal grant, if applicable, and follows all guidelines and timelines outlined in the grant
  5. Provides state-mandated trainings, if applicable
  6. Creates ongoing collegial relationships with customers
  7. Travels as a part of job responsibilities
  8. Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged, activated, messages checked, and mailbox emptied regularly
  9. Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
  10. Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16
  11. Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters
  12. Supports the ESC Manifesto: mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC strategic plan
  13. Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program
  14. Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies, processes, and procedures (e.g. technical assistance, time and effort, etc.)
  15. Manages time, calendar, and job responsibilities to meet deadlines
  16. Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
  17. Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor
  18. Performs other duties as assigned
